On September 8th, the CIFIT (China International Fair for Investment & Trade) gathered numerous experts. To strengthen the deep integration of new energy storage and various segments of the power system, promote the scale, industrialization, and marketization of new energy storage, build a new power system, and fully support the timely realization of the "dual carbon targets" in the energy sector, the "2023 Energy Storage Development Forum" was successfully held at the Xiamen International Convention Center, jointly organized by the Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the School of Energy at Xiamen University, the Xiamen Alumni Economic Promotion Association, and Haichen Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., with Xiamen Guangpu Electronics Co., Ltd. as a co-organizer.

The forum revolved around the theme of "Supporting Energy Storage, Winning Together in the Future" for in-depth discussions. Leaders and guests included Li Chuan, former Vice Governor of the Fujian Provincial People's Government; Chen Shihai, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Chairman of the Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Chen Jin, former Deputy Director of the Xiamen Municipal People's Congress; Chu Yanyi, former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Xinhua News Agency Fujian Branch; and Weng Xiaojie, Vice Chairman of the Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. Also present were industry elites from the Fujian Provincial New Energy Science and Technology Industry Promotion Association, the Xiamen Alumni Economic Promotion Association, and various provincial and municipal federations of returned overseas Chinese; as well as experts and scholars from the Tsinghua Straits Research Institute, Xiamen University, and the Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory. More than 300 participants gathered to analyze the development trends of the energy storage industry, explore international cooperation and market opportunities, and support the high-quality development of the industry.

Weng Xiaojie, Vice Chairman of the Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, delivered the opening speech, warmly welcoming all guests. Energy storage technology is driving the rapid development of the new energy industry, and the forum serves as a bridge for the exchange of energy storage technologies. Enterprises gather to develop consensus, spark ideas, share insights, and plan for future industries.

Liao Zhinan, the rotating chairman of the Fujian Provincial New Energy Science and Technology Industry Promotion Association, expressed that the association will leverage the regional advantages of the "Belt and Road" core area and the profound industrial foundation of Fujian's new energy sector to deeply integrate markets, technologies, talents, capital, policies, new technologies, and new materials. This integration aims to enhance independent and collaborative innovation capabilities and promote the healthy development of the new energy industry.

Lin Ruimei, President of the Council of the Xiamen Alumni Economic Promotion Association and Chairman of Guangpu, also delivered a speech. She stated that entrepreneurs connect resources through forums, forming a multiplier effect of "alma mater + alumni + city." Zheng Zhifeng, Dean of the School of Energy at Xiamen University; Shi Zinan, Senior Expert of the Business Energy Storage System Research Center at Tsinghua Straits Research Institute; Jian Yongnan, Technical Expert at Haichen Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd.; Fang Xiaoliang, Professor at Xiamen University and the Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory; and Wu Jun, Senior Expert in the Energy Storage Sector at Marsh & McLennan Companies China, delivered professional reports on energy storage technology and safety guarantees.

Yu Jianxian, Vice President of the Research Institute of Guangpu and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, elaborated on the core demands of the dual carbon targets, discussing the development trends of renewable energy and the importance of energy storage in new energy power generation systems. He also presented unique insights on adapting different types of energy storage systems to different market demands.

Dr. Yu explained that in the development of new energy storage industries, the advancement of new materials and technologies has compensated for the shortcomings of various energy storage systems.
